Thank you to everyone who joined our January webinar for community input about the Self-Determination Program (SDP) orientation. Your feedback helps us improve how we share information with individuals, families, and community partners.
You gave us great ideas for making the SDP orientation more accessible and engaging. Based on your feedback, the orientation materials have been updated:
- Added more information about:
- Pre-enrollment support options
- The individual budget process
- Certification of a spending plan
- Moved some information out of the orientation itself and into its reference materials
- Added more frequent interactive knowledge checks
In order to improve consistency and accuracy, the State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) will be the sole provider to deliver the orientation.
Interested in participating in the SDP? Sign up for a virtual orientation with SCDD! This updated orientation begins in April. Both two-hour parts of the orientation must be completed before someone can newly enroll in the Self-Determination Program.
